Ifelodun local govt in Kwara proposes N1.8bn budget for 2014
Ifelodun local government in Kwara State on Wednesday presented a budget of N1.8 billion for 2014 to its legislative council.
Presenting the budget tagged “Budget of Hope and Prosperity’’ at the council headquarters in Share, the Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Babatunde Salami, N708.45 million was for capital expenditure while N1.11 billion was for recurrent expenditure.
Salami said the capital vote was to be expended on general public service, public order and safety.
‘’The economic sector, health, education and social protection would also share from the amount,’’ he said.
Salami urged the legislative council to give the draft budget a speedy consideration and approval and assured the people that the council would strive to formulate policies to end poverty among the people of the area.
He said the budget was aimed at consolidating on the successes of the previous budgets.
The Leader of the legislative council, Mr Segun Oluwaponle, said the legislature would deliberate and ensure that the budget was passed in good time.
