Ibrahimovic out for Four Weeks
Zlatan Ibrahimović has been ruled out of Paris Saint-Germain’s second leg with Chelsea FC, after the club confirmed the Swedish forward would be out for up to four weeks following an injury picked up against the Blues on Wednesday.
The Paris top-scorer was forced off the field holding his hamstring in the 69th minute of the first leg, which his side went on to win 3-1. Scans on Friday are expected to reveal the full nature of the injury, but the 32-year-old will play no part in the Stamford Bridge return on Tuesday, with his availability for a possible semi-final also called into doubt by the problem.
“He won’t be able to play [against Chelsea],” club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi told local radio. “It is not possible. We still await the results of the scans but I think he is out for four weeks at least.”
That prognosis would rate the forward, with ten goals to his name in this season’s competition, doubtful for the last-four ties, should Paris make it, with the semi-final first legs taking place on 22 and 23 April, and the returns a week later.
