Eighty-seven-year old Pa Francis Daramola, the father of Hon. Bimbo Daramola, the Director General of Kayode Fayemi Campaign Organisation, has narrated how his household was allegedly attacked by combined forces of security operatives at his Ire Ekiti country home in Ekiti State.

Pa Daramola, while narrating his ordeal to newsmen, said the attackers stormed his house around 1.15am on Saturday, armed with guns.

He said the guns were pointed at him and members of his household by the security operatives, who demanded for his son, Bimbo.

Mrs. Daramola also corroborated the octogenarian’s claim.

Pa Daramola said: “The attackers were in police and Army camouflage and in suit.

“One of them, who was in civil defence uniform, covered his face.

“They forcefully opened the entrance door and forced everybody to lie face down.

“They ransacked every room, saying they were looking for arms and asked me to tell them where Daramola is, but I told them I don’t know.

“It was a traumatic experience.
“They threatened to shoot me.
“They were here for over two hours and when they were going they ordered us to lie down.”

Hon. Daramola, in his response, described the attack as the handiwork of some people who were desirous of not winning through the ballot box but through “extraneous” means.

He said he would appreciate if the peaceful atmosphere being experienced during accreditation continued till the time of voting.
