Sharing is caring!

Home based players of the Super Eagles squad are due to face their Ghanaian counterparts on 7 November in a match billed as part of events to officially open the Akwa Ibom International Stadium in Uyo.

The celebration will be attended by President Goodluck Jonathan. The legendary Brazilian footballer Pele is also set to be at the opening of the stadium.

The newly built 30,000 capacity will host the Super Eagles 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa on 19 November.

The edifice was built to bear similarities with Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena, the Bird Nest Stadium in Beijing China, and the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa.
