Health: Pregnant Women In Ondo To Present Residency Card for Medicare

Pregnant women in Ondo State will have to present the State Residency Card, otherwise known as the “Kaadi Igbe Ayo” in Yoruba parlance, before they can access free medical care.
The Governor of the State, Olusegun Mimiko, disclosed this at the official launch of the State Residency Card in Akure, the State’s Capital on Thursday.
People from all walks of life converged on the multipurpose
Chairman of Ondo State Civic Data Centre, Tunde Yadeka, at the occasion held inside the multipurpose hall in the state capital said the card is a multi-application digital smart-card which would contain relevant data about the holder.
He said, the card could be used to access social services such as health and financial purposes.
The Residency Card was introduced in October 2009 during the first tenure of Governor Mimiko.
