Hazard to Sign New Contract with Chelsea
Chelsea coach, Jose Mourinho has said he is confident Eden Hazard will commit his future to Chelsea by agreeing to a contract extension.
The 23-year-old, who joined from Lille in 2012, still has three years remaining on his original contract but the club is keen to extend it as he has become a very important member of the squad.
According to reports, the Belgian’s new deal could be worth up to £50m, as the clubs hopes Hazard will shun perceived interest from French side Paris Saint-Germain.
Mourinho said: “We have big hopes that he will go from a top player to reach higher levels. He’s a player we want to keep. It’s true Chelsea is trying to have an agreement for a new contract. It will be a question of time. It will end with a new contract.
“He wants to commit to us and we want to commit to him for the future.”
