Group Commends Sanwo-Olu on His Budget of “Shared Prosperity”
A Civil Society organisation, Campaign for Dignity in Governance, has commended the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his 2026 Budget of “Shared Prosperity” presented to the Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. Speaking with nigerianecho.com.ng, the Convener of the group, Razaq Olokoba, noted that the budget which outlines priority areas like infrastructure, public services, and community well-being under the T.H.E.M.E.S+ development agenda shows that the governor was poised to consolidate on the foundation of excellence he had laid.
” Sanwo‑Olu’s aim to cement legacy, complete ongoing projects, boost welfare, security, and shared prosperity has been reflected without an iota of doubt. Infrastructure sustainability, economic diversification and institutional reforms which are central to the development of an economy like Lagos have been given core roles by the governor”, Olokoba said
He added that the essence of the “Budget of Shared Prosperity” narrative is that every naira is meant to trickle down—better health, education, housing and jobs—so the most vulnerable feel tangible improvement in their daily lives.
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa praised it as matching Lagos’ aspirations and urged thorough scrutiny to ensure value for Lagosians. A four Trillion Naira budget was presented (₦4.237 tn).
