Bauchi state Governor, Isa Yuguda has solicited the forgiveness of the people of the state for his errors since he assumed office in 2007.

Yuguda, who made the plea while presenting his last budget speech before lawmakers in the state, thanked the citizens of the state for the opportunity given to him to serve them.

He said: “I have done my possible best and God Almighty has been my witness, where I have unconsciously erred, I seek the forgiveness of Almighty Allah and the good people of Bauchi State. We want to put it on record that we have taken every decision with the strongest belief that it is the best for the state.

”The performance of the projected capital receipts has been seriously impaired. Out of the N45.6 billion projected last year, only N6.9 billion, representing 15% was realised as at September 30, 2014. This is largely due to the prevailing security challenges which made it difficult to access funds from both local and external borrowing sources.

“Only N7.4 billion of the projected capital expenditure of N68.1 billion for the year was met as at September 2014, and was applied on the execution of ongoing projects in health, education, road construction, water supply, the state International Airport and the new Specialist Hospital.”

He charged the incoming administration in the state to ensure the maintenance of security of lives and property despite the cost, adding that government and traditional rulers need to develop the concept of community policing to keep them abreast of developments around them.
