Governor Suswam of Benue promises that PDP will not Challenge Results of Gubernatorial Polls
Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam has stated that despite losing the governorship election in the state to the All Progressive Congress, the Peoples Democratic Party will not challenge the result.
Governor Suswam said this while receiving the APC’s Dr Samuel Ortom in his office in Makurdi, saying:
“PDP will not go to the tribunal to challenge the outcome of this election, because we do not want your government to be distracted by election petitions.
“The verdict is the will of the people and should be respected by all.”
He also promised the governor-elect the full support of the PDP and his administration in ensuring the success of the incoming administration.
In his own speech, the governor-elect thanked and commended the governor for his contributions in nation building, adding that he would devote his first 100 days in office to pursue reconciliation, forgiveness and peace in the state so as to help propel the state towards economic prosperity.
