Governor Amaechi attacked during Campaign in Wike’s Town
Governor Chibuike Amaechi and his supporters were on Thursday attacked as he visited Rumuolumeni in Obio Akpor, the home of the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Nyesom Wike.
According to reports, at least two people were injured in the attack.
The governor’s spokesperson, David Iyofor, said the governor was in Obio Akpor to campaign for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress and accused the PDP of being behind the attack.
He said the governor and his entourage were first attacked with bottles, stones and other objects before guns were shot.
