Governor Aliyu wants PDP Members to pray for Buhari’s Success
The governor of Niger State, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party to support the incoming All Progressives Congress-led government instead of praying for its failure.
The governor, who was speaking during the commissioning of some TERTFund projects at the College of Education, Minna, advised that while members of the party work towards regaining power in 2019, they should also pray for the success of the incoming government. He insisted that if the government failed, it would impact negatively on all Nigerians, including the PDP members.
Governor Aliyu claimed that the defection of five former governors from the PDP strengthened the APC but warned against future defections, stating that a virile opposition was important for the development of the country.
He also said the failure to honour the agreement of one term signed by President Goodluck Jonathan was also partly responsible for the defeat of the PDP.
