Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Monday paraded a suspected website hacker and job racketeer, Adeniji Lukman.

The officer who led the arrest, Ayodele Solomon said the Corps had been on the trail of the accused since last year but only caught up with him on 26th of September.

While presenting the suspect, 23, to journalists at the Corps headquarters in Abuja, the NSCDC Commandant General, Ade Abolurin said the suspect was responsible for most of the fake websites of the Corps.

“The suspect before us is an expert in web designing. He can hack into any system especially those of government agencies, for instance: Civil Defence, Immigration, Customs, SSS, NECO, JAMB and all systems.

“He develops portals through which he places some adverts, advertising for recruitment for all these agencies. Some of them such are; nscdc.wobca.mobi, nscdc.wobca.Jeff.tks and host of others,” Mr. Solomon said.

The officer said the chase for the accused was directed by the Commandant General after several complains from the public.

“We heard that he was in Osun State but when we got there, he ran away. However, on 26th September this year, we got him.”

The suspect who graduated from College of Education, Ilaragun in March 2013, said he went into the crime in ignorance.

He said he charges N4, 500 for registration while job placement cost between N10, 000 to N50, 000.

Lukman who said he started the business in 2011, added that he received payment through cash deposit in his bank accounts as well as through recharge cards.

He couldn’t ascertain the amount made from the business and the number of applicants defrauded by him, when asked.

The Commandant General of the Corps said the suspect will be charged to court immediately
