Sharing is caring!

George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have tied to knot in a private ceremony in Venice on Saturday.

The actor’s representative, Stan Rosenfield announced the news, confirming Hollywood’s long-time Bachelor is now George Clooney and Amal Alamuddinlegally tied to his human rights lawyer partner.

Clooney, 53, and Alamuddin, 36, since their engagement in April, have not publicly divulged details of the weekend-long celebrations.

Venice city officials, however, announced the closure of part of the pedestrian way used for civil marriage ceremonies, for two hours on Monday, citing the Clooney nuptials. Guests at the wedding included Cindy Crawford, Matt Damon and Anna Wintour.

Clooney had long vowed he would never marry again following his 1989-93 marriage to Talia Balsam. He dated a series of models and actresses that made his love life tabloid fodder, until meeting his match in Alamuddin.

Alamuddin, a London-based human rights lawyer, is of Lebanese origin. She left Lebanon during the civil war and was raised in the United Kingdom. She met Clooney, who is active in many political causes, through her work.
