Presidency on Monday stated that, the visit by former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan would not influence the ongoing probe of some shady dealings and large scale fraud being uncovered in anyway, as the administration ‎has resolved that any corrupt government officials, past and present would be brought to justice.

This was disclosed on Monday, by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu, while reacting to the recent visits of former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo.

According to him, the visit of the two former Presidents would not interfere with the Federal Government’s ongoing anti-corruption drive.

“The meeting between former Presidents Obasanjo and Jonathan with President Buhari were private and confidential. The President can call them for advice. But it will be unfair for anybody to feel or say it was to stop the war against corruption. The war will continue to go on.”

There have been insinuations that the former Presidents presence at the Presidential Villa on Thursday and Friday respectively under much secrecy, were meant to pacify President Buhari not to disgrace them in his ongoing anti-corruption crusade, which has resulted to probe of especially the administration of immediate past President.
