Former Attorney General of the Federation quits Partisan Politics
A Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mike Aondoakaa, has declared the resignation of his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party, and withdrawal from partisan politics.
Aondoakaa, who was Nigeria’s Minister of Justice from July 2007 to February 2010, said in an interview that he now intends to focus on his personal business and his law practice.
He said, “I am leaving politics to fully engage in a bigger law practice and also tend to my business. I have already tendered by resignation enter to the party.”
He also addressed rumours that he worked against the ruling party at the last elections and that he intends to dump the PDP for the All Progressives Congress, saying:
“I never worked against the PDP, on the day of the elections, I only went to the polling booth and cast my votes, all I told the people was that they should vote according to their conscience and also defend their votes, I never worked against any party, the allegation is baseless.
“I am not joining any party, it’s not true; I am leaving now before anyone starts saying anything or insinuating anything, I am quitting partisan politics.”
