Finally, Controversial Rivers Commissioner of Police Transferred
The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mbu has been redeployed. The redeployment was announced on Thursday by the Police Service Commission. A statement signed by Ferdinand Ekpe on behalf of the Commission, says CP Mbu
has been posted to the Federal Capital Territory. Mbu has been having running battle with the Governor of the State, Rotimi Amaechi with the later accusing President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience of using the CP to oppress him.
A new Commissioner for Rivers State has been announced. He is Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin, who until his redeployment, was the CP in charge of the Special Fraud Investigations Unit in Lagos.
The opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, had instructed it’s members in the National Assembly to block all bills by the President including the 2014 budget if the situation in Rivers State was not addressed.
