FIFA to Help Alleviate Ebola in West African Countries
President of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA), Sepp Blatter has made a pledge that the organisation will help the three West African countries seriously affected by the Ebola Virus Disease.
Blatter, who made the pledge at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, said FIFA intends to contribute part of its solidarity fund to help Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, whose citizens have been afflicted by the Ebola disease.
After the World Health Organisation (WHO) named the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia as a healthcare unit for Ebola victims, FIFA has decided to cover the costs of any damage to the pitch that might be caused by the treatment units.
