Hip-hop act, Ashimi Olawale Ibrahim, popularly called Brymo is now free from his former record label, Chocolate City as Justice I. Buba of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi Lagos on Tuesday lifted an injunction sought by the label for the artiste to complete his contract with the music label.

Chocolate City has been engaged in a legal tussle with Brymo for some months to prevent him from leaving Chocolate City before the expiration of five-year and three-album contract which was due to expire on April 13, 2016

Brymo suddenly announced his decision to leave Chocolate City last year after he accused the company of side-tracking him and not fulfilling their part of his contract. His decision to leave however did not go down well with the company led by Audu Maikori and rapper, M.I.

Brymo claimed that Chocolate City informed him that they wouldn’t be able to fund his second album because they were financing other artistes on the label.

Brymo joins the likes of Wizkid, D’banj, Skales, Eva, Jesse Jags as another Nigerian artiste who has dumped his record label for one reason on another.
