The Ekiti State Governor,Ayodele Fayose has lashed out at president Mohammadu Buhari, against the background of the violence that apparently characterized the rerun elections in Rivers State, saying that God is angry with him and that Nigerians should ask Buhari why they are suffering.
According to the governor, the president superintended over elections that were remarkably bloody.
The Governor who spoke with journalists in Abuja chronicled the lists of elections held under the present government, stating that power belong to God and should not be abused by any individual no matter how highly placed.
He said: “I am telling you the truth, power doesn’t come from anywhere God rules in the affairs of men.Oppressing, bringing and cutting people down, taking their blood,God is angry. The way this government is taking people down,God isn’t happy.Go to Rivers, they kill people.
“Go to Akwa Ibom, they kill people,go to Bayelsa, they kill people, incarcerate innocent people.God is angry with Buhari.you can’t continue to take the blood of the innocent.Look at my predictions for the year 2016 for Nigeria, everything has come to pass. This is a different ball game.He that will take me,he that will go against me must first of all defeat God.If these were the kind of violence that greeted Buhari’s election would he ever be president”?
Speaking further on the likely impact of the just concluded expanded retreat of National Economic Council,NEC in Abuja,Governor Fayose stated that the present economic situations in the Country indicated that president Buhari lacked technical competence to solve the problem of the Country.
Even though he specifically praised the idea, the governor wondered if it would not be just a talk shop.
“We have had a lot of these things,we have been through such gatherings but at the end of the day, will it not be the same old rhetorics, same strategies?
“We should ask the president why are Nigerians suffering under him more than ever before.Look at the electricity tariff;in most cases they will never get the supply of electricity maybe once a month they will get what we call estimated bills. The are not happy.
Meahwhile, Ekiti Government has said that it was not out to witch-hunt any school or retard the progress of private schools or private investments in the State but to ensure that everybody makes its own contribution to the overall development of Ekiti.
The State Deputy Governor,Dr Kolapo Olusola said this while reopening some of the defaulting private schools which were sealed off last week for not complying with the government directive on the payment of Educational Developmental Levy and updating their operating papers.
He said the contrary directive given by the Executive of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS),Ekiti State Chapter to its members was quite unfortunate, anti -government and counter-productive to educational development in Ekiti State.
Dr Kolapo urged the lovers of Ekiti development among the proprietors to disregard any counterproductive directives from any unscrupulous individual or association and comply with government directives on the payment of Educational Developmental levy and other statutory dues in the interest of their investment in education.
The Deputy Governor who emphasized that all stakeholders in the State, particularly in the educational sector including the National Association of proprietors of private schools were adequately consulted before the policy was formulated, reiterated that the government would not rescind its decision.
The proprietor of one of the reopened private schools,Hon.Akomolafe Bolu, who said he had now fully paid the required levy and dues expected from his school thanked the government for lifting the ban on his school.
