Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton has come under fire after posting pictures of his skiing trip days after Michael Schumacher suffered an extremely serious accident in the French Alps.

The photographs posted on his Instagram account have caused uproar among Formula One fans who accused him of being “insensitive” and “arrogant”.

One Instagram user said: “Very insensitive Lewis-while Schumacher is in a coma”. Another angry fan wrote: “He is my favourite but this could have waited, these posts are not necessary at this hour.”

Others highlighted the fact that the F1 ace wasn’t wearing a helmet while skiing, urging him to be careful on the slopes.
A fan wrote: “Be careful, think of Schumi and his condition right now”.

Some defended the driver claiming that Schumacher fans were overreacting and cross-skiing is not a dangerous sport. One of his supporters said: “He’s not going to postpone his winter training just because of Schumacher. His fans want to see what he’s up to. Why would you wear a helmet for cross country? Even in the Olympics they wear just a hat!”

Seven-time F1 champion Michael Schumacher suffered an extremely serious accident while skiing in the Meribel region in the French Alps after hitting a rock. He was wearing a helmet when he fell.
