Sharing is caring!

The Deputy Governor of Borno State, north east Nigeria, Alhaji Mustapha and Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Kyari Garbai almost lost their lives Friday afternoon as a suicide bomber detonated an explosive killing over ten people including five military personnels. The explosion occurred in a Mosque during the obligatory Friday Jumat prayer where the duo were observing Jumat prayers. The suicide bomber was reported to be metres away from the Deputy Governor and Shehu of Borno before he detonated the bomb.

The Mosque which is located very close to the Palace of Shehu of Borno had other dignitaries who attended the Friday prayer. It is still not known if the dreaded Boko Haram sect is responsible for this dastardly act.

Nigeria has been under attack from the Boko Haram sect. A serving Senator and a member of House of Representatives were murdered in Plateau, north central State of Nigeria few days ago. Boko Haram claimed responsibility for it including the bombings of some places in Kaduna, Niger and Kano States.

Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan who, last week, sacked his Security Adviser and Minister for Defence have been under intense criticism. He has been described as a weak leader who folds arms and allow reign of terror in the largest African Country. The new Security Adviser, Col. Mustapha Dasuki has said he would discuss with the sect to bring peace to the Country.
