Ethiopia – Nigeria World Cup Qualifier will not be Broadcast Live
Many Nigerians will not get to watch the 2014 World Cup qualifying game between Ethiopia and Nigeria on Sunday as the match will not be screened on local television.
This is due to failure of local broadcasters to pay $500,000 demanded by Sport Five,a French company holding the rights for the game.
It is clear Nigerian broadcasters are not prepared to offer up to that. An official said,“We cannot afford over N80 million when our biggest advertisers will pay not more than N5million for the game,It is not feasible.”
The game will however be transmitted live on Super Sport, a South African Cable channel at 2pm, Local time.
