Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero is dead

Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero has reportedly died this morning, Friday.
The spokesperson to Kano State government, Baba Dantiye who confirmed the incident said, the Emir is expected to be buried today, Friday according to Islamic rites.
Ado Bayero became Emir of Kano in 1963. The second most important Muslim leader in Nigeria was a fore front muslim leader who has been supporting war against Boko Haram activities.
Report from Kano indicates that the Emir of Kano died today in the middle of a fresh controversy surrounding the appointment of one of emirate’s title holders in Kano.
NigerianEcho learnt, Rabiu Kwankwaso government was said to have opposed the emir’s choice earlier this week, as reported by Peoples Daily.
The late Ado Bayero was said to have reversed himself after the opposition from the state government on the appointment.
The state government was reportedly threatened to depose the Emir if he failed to drop his earlier choice.
The threat, NigerianEcho gathered made the Emir to reverse his stand two days to his death.
The late Emir who will be buried by 4pm today became was also a former Nigerian ambassador to Senegal.
