Super Eagles striker, Emmanuel Emenike, has said he is not in any way disappointed at his omission from the final shortlist for the Glo/CAF Africa Player of the Year award.

The Fenerbahce player was on the initial list of 23 nominees alongside Ahmed Musa, Sunday Mba, Vincent Enyeama and John Mikel Obi, but it was only Mikel Obi who made it to the last three.

“I am not worried about the award and I am not disappointed that I was not listed among the top three finalists. All the remaining three players are good for the award and I wish them best of luck,” he said

The 26-year-old has scored nine goals in nineteen appearances for the Super Eagles since making his debut in 2011 and was listed as one of the 100 best players in 2014 by UK’s Guardian Sport.
