El-Rufai Sues Union Newspaper For Defamation

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has dragged the Union Newspaper based in Lagos, to court for defamatory of character.
The medium had on June 1, published a story alleging that the governor declared an asset worth N90 billion at the Code of Conduct Bureau.
The Governor, who filed this case on Monday, at the State High Court against the newspaper house, was accompanied to the court by his Deputy, Bala Bantex, his lawyers and top government officials.
According to El-Rufai after signing the writ of summons at the court registry, the story was untrue and malicious.
He explained that his reason for dragging the management of the newspaper house to court, was for them to come and prove that he was as rich as they claimed in the publication.
