The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Kola Oluwawole, has promised to lead a house better than the past four assemblies in the state.

Speaking at a prayer session organised for the new lawmakers in Ado-Ekiti on Monday, he said the new assembly is committed to achieving development and growth and working with the Executive arm of government.

Asking for the support of the People, Oluwawole said: “I want to implore our people, especially the professionals in the state, and our sons and daughters across the country, to sponsor private bills.

“I want to let everyone know that the duty of law making is not what the lawmakers alone can do, that’s why we are soliciting the support of our people.

“We appeal to them to quickly challenge us whenever they think we are not doing well; we shall strive to do our best, but we still need their support and advice.”

The Chaplain in-charge of Government House Chapel, Seyi Olusola, during the service, charged the lawmakers to be thankful to God Almighty for the privilege given to them and urged them to fulfil their obligations to the people who elected them.
