Sharing is caring!

Ekiti State’s new Commissioner of Police, Etop John James, has assured residents of the state that peace and normalcy will soon return despite the high rates of kidnapping recorded in recent weeks in the state.

James, who resumed on Tuesday, will head the special squad deployed to the state by the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, in response to Governor Ayodele Fayose’s call for help.

The new CP said: “Any group that is legitimate is free to talk to me. I will use all information I have now and I will listen to others. I am here to ensure peace. I was given only one mandate; it is to go and do police job. My duty is to ensure peace. Let everybody go about their lawful businesses.”

Meanwhile, following threats of an industrial action by the state chapter of Academic Staff Union of Universities, the Nigerian Medical Association in the state has suspended emergency services across hospitals in the state in protest of the abduction of its members.
