Ekiti PDP Accuses APC of Planing to attack Jonathan’s Convoy ….. Its PDP that Is Violent , Says Fayemi’s Aide.
Ekiti State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Makanjuola Ogundipe has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in the State of planning to attack the convoy of President Goodluck Jonathan at the main gate of the Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) on Saturday.
The party chairman alleged in a release issued in Ado-Ekiti today that a 5-man Committee had been set up by the APC government to oversee and ensure the execution of devilish plan.
He said members were Governor Fayemi’s Chief of Staff, Mr. Yemi Adaramodu, State Chairman of the APC, Mr. jide Awe, Fayemi’s Senior Special Assistant on Internal Security, Mr Adedeji Adesokan (Jaruu), Mr Dele Falusi and the State Chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Mr Rotimi Olabiwonu otherwise known as Mentillo.
Ogundipe said; “Information at our disposal is that some thugs have been mobilised to disrupt the programme at ABUAD and give impression that the act was carried out by supposedly aggrieved PDP members.
“That was the reason behind the allegation made by the APC chairman, Jide Awe two days ago that the PDP was planning to unleash terror on the State during the visit.
“It is a known fact that whatever evil act the APC people are planning to carry out they accuse others of planning to do so as to divert attention from their own devilish plots.
“I am still baffled as to the reason these APC people are planning to cause problems in the State just because Mr President is coming to honour Chief Afe Babalola, a man that we all revered with attendance of ABUAD’s first convocation.”
The State chairman stated that “in Ekiti politics of today, APC is the only party known for violence and evil acts.
“Since the genesis of this aberration called Fayemi-led Government, it has been violence and killing of innocent Ekiti people?
“Today, the APC chairman is still standing trial in for the murder of Ayo Murphy Jeje and Madam Juliana Adewunmi, who was killed at Erijiyan Ekiti.
“It was the government and its agents that murdered Mr Adeleye Awolumate at Otun-Ekiti, abducted Chief Remi Oguntuase (Remog), attempted to abduct Mr Lere Olayinka, attacked supporters of Ekiti Bibiire Coalition and attacked PHCN officials; an act on which a High Court in Ado-Ekiti awarded N1m damages against Fayemi’s Aide”, Deji Adesokan.
“Therefore, we call on security agents to investigate this devilish plot by the APC government as they prpare to cause mayhem in the State on Saturday.”
In a swift reaction to the allegations levelled against the government, the Special Aide to Governor Kayode Fayemi on Research and Strategy, Comrade Bisi Dada told NigerianEcho on telephone that Ogundipe was being economical with the truth.
“That man, Ogundipe must be high on some cheap substances. The Governor is presiding over the most peaceful regime the state has ever witnessed. It was during their time at the helms of affairs in the State that we experienced such. Politically motivated murders were rife in their time.
” As I speak with you, the Governor is distributing cheques for communities in Ikere Ekiti, bridges are being commissioned, roads are being inaugurated and people are generally enjoying the dividends of democracy. Its been three years of glorious, peaceful and successful regime that we are celebrating today. Chief Afe Babalola yesterday at the Stadium commended the Governor for his good works. We don’t have time for their rantings and I think they are looking for cheap attention”, Dada said.
