Ekiti Governor Approves Payment Of 27.5% Teacher’s Allowance, overseas training
Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has approved the payment of 27.5% teachers’ pecuniary allowance as well as local and overseas trainings for the teachers in the state.
Speaking at the sensitization programme of the State Education Programme Investment Project at the Olukayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti, Governor Fayemi said that the approval of the 27.5% pecuniary allowance was to further improve the living standards of the teachers.
The Governor as reported by Channels TV stressed that the payment of 27.5% pecuniary allowance, as well as the local and overseas trainings was not a favour but the right of the teachers, as the Government was determined to do anything possible to improve the lives of teachers in the state.
Kayode Akosile, Chairman, NUT in Ekiti who spoke on behalf of the teachers according to Channels TV, said that the Governor had done very well for the teachers in the state and appealed to the Governor to also look into the issue of promotions and other areas that would further improve the lives of teachers in the state.
Some of the teachers, whose joy became uncontrollable after Governor Fayemi’s announced the goodies thanked him for approving the much anticipated 27.5% pecuniary allowance.
