Ekiti court remands two herdsmen over Oke-Ako

A Chief Magistrate court in Ado Ekiti has remanded two persons who were suspected to be responsible for the May 20 attack on Oke-Ako in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The attack claimed two people’s lives and left three persons seriously injured.
Meanwhile, the two suspected killer herdsmen, Usman Salihu aged 50yrs and Abubakar Auta 52years old were arraigned for murder and causing grievous bodily.
The presiding judge after charges have been read to the suspects remanded them in prison custody till September pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
Confirming the development the Ekiti State Police Public Relation Officer Alberto Adeyemi said a resident, Grace Olofin told newsmen that peace had returned to the town, adding that security agencies were still on ground keeping watch over the town.
Also, the Councillor for Ipao, Oke-Ako, Irele wards, Mr Segun Kehinde appealed to the people to return to the town.
