Ekiti 2014: Fayemi Picks Nomination Form
Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State Wednesday morning at the national secretariat of All Progressives Congress’ (APC) in Abuja collected nomination form for the governorship election scheduled for June 21.
Speaking after collecting the form, Fayemi told journalists his decision to seek re-election was a response to several calls by the people of the state adding, the vote of confidence given to his administration by the people of Ekiti was a resounding victory for the APC.
“Today is a landmark towards our journey for collective consolidation and building our state and recognition of APC’s commitment to due process with a view to satisfying the aspirations of the people.’’
According to him, since the merger of opposition political parties into APC, it is enjoying overwhelming support from people from all walks of life.
“We have absolutely no doubt in our mind that come 2015 presidential election, the victory is ours if the people have the power.’’
Fayemi asked Ekiti people to be very vigilant in the days ahead to ensure victory for APC in the forthcoming election.
Making his remarks at the occasion, APC’s Interim National Secretary, Alhaji Tijjani Tumsa, described the performance of Fayemi in office as a reflection of the party’s ideology in the country.
Tumsa said, APC is accepted by the people of Ekiti as a necessary agent of change.
The governor was accompanied to the National Secretariat of the APC by the state’s party Interim Chairman, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and several party faithfuls.
