EFCC Arrests Lagos Lawyer, Ebun Adegboruwa, For N61.6m Fraud

Nigeria anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a Lagos-based lawyer, Ebun Olu Adegboruwa, for obtaining money under false pretence to the tune of N61,631,944.65million( Sixty-one Million, Six Hundred and Thirty-One Thousand, Nine-Hundred and Forty-four Naira, Sixty-five Kobo).
According to the agency spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, Adegboruwa allegedly conspired with some other persons to lease a property situated at House 105, Nicon Town Estate, Lekki, Lagos to a company named Shelf Drilling Nigeria Limited for the sum of N61, 631,944.65.
The property, Uwujaren disclosed, is under an interim forfeiture order by a Lagos State High Court, while the money was credited to his Zenith Bank account, from where he disbursed the funds to his accomplices.
The matter, EFCC disclosed will soon be charged to court.
