EFCC Arraigns Fake Lover For N1.2 m Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, October 27, 2015 arraigned one Olamuyiwa Ojo(aka, Thomas Lawson,  Farrah Reed, Adewunmi Taofiq Ajibade) before Justice S.S Ogunsanya of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja on a seven  count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence,  forgery and possession of forged document.
Olamuyiwa allegedly defrauded one Reginald Burton, an Australian to the tune of N1, 290,161.13 (One Million, Two Hundred and Ninety Thousand, one hundred and sixty-one naira, Thirteen Kobo)  while posing as a woman by the name Farrah Reed. He deceived the victim by claiming to be in love with him.
One of the counts reads: “that you Olamuyiwa  (aka, Farrah Reed, Adewunmi Taofiq Ajibade, Thomas Lawson ) in the year 2014, at Abulegba within the Ikeja judicial division by false pretence and with intent to defraud obtained the sum of N1,088,657.05 (One Million, Eighty Eight Thousand, Six Hundred and Fifty Seven Naira, Five Kobo) from one Reginald Burton on the pretext that you Farrah Reed are in love with him and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006”.

The defendant pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.

Justice Ogunsanya adjourned the case to 19th of November 2015 for hearing and ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody pending the determination of the bail application.
