EDIL KABIR FESTIVAL: OGUN COMMAND SHIFTS RESTRICTION ORDER TILL MID NIGHT
The Ogun State Police command wishes to inform the general public that for the period of the EDIL Kabir festival, the command has shifted the restriction order placed on operations of bar, joints, recreation centres within the state till 2400hrs, mid night,as from today 23/09/2015 till Monday 28/09/2015.
It will be recalled that the command had recently placed restriction orders on the operations of Okada operators till 8.30pm and activities at Bars,joints, recreation centers till 10pm for security reasons,within Ogun state.
The command has deemed it necessary to shift the order after a thorough deliberation with other security agencies at a meeting held,at the instance of the Commissioner of Police,CP Abdulmajid Ali, in the office of the Commissioner of Police Eleweran Abeokuta on Tuesday,in order to avail our Muslim faithfuls,their friends and fun seekers to enjoy the festive period.
The Command however wishes to reiterate that the order on commercial motorcyclists still stands; that no commercial Okada operator(motorcyclist) should operate beyond 2030 hrs(8.30pm) every day. Any Okada operator who violates this law will be arrested and charged to court according to the provisions of the relevant laws of Ogun State.
The Commissioner of Police Ogun State therefore appeals to the general public,particularly,Muslim faithfuls and fun seekers to be law-abiding and be moderate in all their dealings and endeavors before,during and after the sallah as the command will not spare anyone caught in any criminal act or any act capable of truncating the existing security arrangement in Ogun State.
