Ebonyi State PDP Faction Says Jonathan Will Lose 2015 Presidential Election
A faction of the Ebonyi state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has declared that the party will likely lose the state’s votes in the 2015 presidential election.
The faction said this at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday, revealing that they were of the opinion that the imposition of governorship candidates by the state Governor, Martin Elechi would make people vote against the President.
The chairman of the faction, Chief Mike Awo also said that the governor vetoed the decisions of the party’s executive all the time.
“During the last state congress, many of us show interest to contest for party positions but were not even allowed to obtain the nomination forms, let alone further our desire to contest the election.
“It may interest you to know that the party in Ebonyi State has gestalt compromised. The former state chairman was intimidated to resign and lave the way for a stooge who will do the bidding of the governor.
“From the foregoing it is now very obvious that if there is no intervention, PDP will die a natural death in that state chapter and the President stands the risk of losing election in Ebonyi State.”
The faction also said that although it supports zoning in the state, the manner with which the governor handles the party politics ”smirks of hate and political delinquency.”
