Ebonyi Speaker Impeached
Ebonyi State House of Assembly Monday morning was thrown into confusion as the Speaker, Chukwuma Nwazunku was impeached
Why the Assembly moved against its speaker remain unknown as at the time of this report.
However, the speaker was impeached by 18 out of the 24 members of the House.
A member representing Abakaliki South constituency, Helen Nwaobasi, was immediately elected to replace him via a motion moved by Eni Udoma and seconded by Jerry Obasi.
The lawmakers had first lifted the suspension slammed on three of their colleagues, including the deputy speaker, Blaise Orji, before going ahead to impeach the Speaker.
Motion for the impeachment was moved Hon. Chris Usulor and seconded by the Minority Leader, Hon. Enyi Enyi.
