Eagles refuse to fly over Iran

Super Eagles opening match against Iran ended in a scoreless draw. The Super Eagles who are expected to beat Iran left their teeming supporters frustrated with their lackluster performance.

The Iranian who came with all intention of going home with at least a draw achieved their goal in the match.

The match was so flat from both sides that made chances few and far between the two sides.

The match started on a cautious note with both sides sizzling each other. The attack of Super Eagles led by Emenike, Moses and Musa were not coordinated to give Nigerians the cutting edge.

Ramon Azzez pass to Onazi in front of goal and Ahmed Musa feeble free- kick were only highlights of Super Eagles attack throughout the first half.

The injury to Oboabona in the first half destabilised Keshi’s plan that led to the introduction of the Captain of the team, Joseph Yobo.

Shola Ameobi came in for Victor Moses to add power to the attack of the Super Eagles, while the team was having upper hand with hope of a goal in the offing, which was incapacitated with the injured Ramon Azeez.

Eagles looked uncoordinated in the attack and lost control of midfield to the Iranians.

The referee from Ecuador ended the match with both Brazilian and Nigerians going home frustrated with the result.
