DSS Assures Nigeria is Indivisible
The Department of State Services has shunned the threats of divisive tendencies or machinations against Nigeria by terror elements and unscrupulous politicians, saying they will not succeed.
Director-General of the DSS, Ita Ekpenyong, said this while speaking at the graduation ceremony of participants of Executive Intelligence Management Course 7 from the service’s Institute for Security Studies in Abuja, expressing optimism that the nation was on the path of lasting growth and development.
He also said the security agents should contribute to the development of the country by protecting it and keeping peace and unity.
He said: “Like every other country on earth today, Nigeria is grappling with its own share of global insecurity. As a service, our response to threats to national security has been very comprehensive.
“They include continuous human capacity development, extensive intelligence collection programmes and collaboration with stakeholders both within and outside the country.
“Our intelligence collection efforts make threat indicators explicit and are also geared toward ensuring the success of government policies and programmes’’.
