Diego Costa , Gary Monk win EPL Player and Manager of the Month
Chelsea striker Diego Costa has won the 2014/2015 season’s first Premier League Player of the Month award.
The 25-year old, who joined from Atletico Madrid in June for £32m, has scored four goals already in the first three matches of the league season.
Costa beat Chelsea teammate Cesc Fabregas, Aston Villa’s Andreas Weimann as well as Swansea City duo Nathan Dyer and midfielder Gylfi Sigurðsson to the August award.
Swansea City manager Gary Monk was named August’s Manager of the Month, after leading the Welsh club to three wins in three games so far.
The Swans began the season with a 2-1 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford before claiming further wins against West Brom and newly promoted Burnley.
Monk beat Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, Aston Villa’s Paul Lambert and Hull City’s Steve Bruce to the prize.
