Dangote Breaks into the List of the Top 25 Richest People in the World List

Nigeria’s foremost businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has been named the 23rd richest man in the world and the richest in Africa.

According to Forbes Magazine, the Kano state-born business mogul who has a $25 billion net worth from his investments in cement, sugar, beverages and petrochemical is reportedly the first black man to break into the top 25 richest people tally.

Mike Adenuga, owner of indigenous telecoms company Globacom, was next to Dangote on the list with a wealth of $4.6 billion, maintaining 325 position in the world, while Folorunsho Alakija, with $2.5 billion, was 687 in the world and Abdulsamad Rabiu ranks 1372 in the world, with $1.2 billion.

Bill Gates occupied the top spot again after a four-year hiatus, with Carlos Slim Helu of Mexico ranking number two. Spain’s Amancio Ortega retains the number three spot for the second year in a row while Warren Buffett stands at the number four position.
