Danger Averted: Arik Aircraft in near Mishap
An aircraft belonging to Arik’s Air today almost crash -landed at the Nnamid Azikiwe Airport, Abuja after developing a fault few minutes after take off.
The plane with flight number WB 162Y took off from Abuja flying to Lagos reportedly developed technical fault which made the Pilot to return to Abuja Airport.
The plane landed safely, but the passengers who were visibly traumatized expressed worry about the state of the aviation industry in the nation.
One of the Passengers who spoke with Nigerianecho said the Pilot didn’t explain to them what happened. “He just said we need to go back to Abuja because he couldn’t communicate with Lagos. That’s the reason, that’s just what he said. He lost contact with the radar. I thank God am alive”, the man said.
Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah has been under intense criticism by stakeholders in aviation industry accusing her of incompetence and corruption.
The House of Representatives has found her culpable in the purchase of BMW cars at the rate of 223 Million naira, a price considered outrageous by the lower House.
