Cristiano Ronaldo Doubtful for Galatasaray Clash

Sharing is caring!

There are major doubts that Cristiano Ronaldo will be available for Real Cristiano RonaldoMadrid’s Champions League clash with Galatasaray on Wednesday after tests carried out on Monday detected a hamstring injury.

The Portuguese had opened the scoring to register his 17th goal in the liga this season in Real’s 5-0 win over Almeria on Saturday. He was however substituted in the 54th minute after pulling up with the injury when attempting a cross from the left.

A statement on the club’s website said “an injury had been detected in the back part of his left thigh,” although it didn’t state how long the 28-year-old could be sidelined for.

However, with Real already virtually assured of their place in the last-16 of the Champions League, it is highly unlikely that Ronaldo will be risked against the Turkish champions.

Ronaldo’s sensational form of late, whilst Barcelona rival Lionel Messi has been sidelined with a hamstring injury of his own, has made him the strong favourite to win his second Ballon d’Or in January.

The former Manchester United man already has 32 goals to his name this season and had played every single minute of competitive action for Madrid this season before coming off against Almeria.
