Court grants bail of N.2m to two men accused of slealing motorcyle valued N80,000
An Otta Magistrate Court in Ogun on Wednesday granted bail of N200,000 to two men,namely Semiu Obabiyi and Dani Shuaib who were standing trial on alleged case of conspiracy and stealing of motorcycle valued at N80,000.
Chief Magistrate, Mrs Funke Odubanjo, who gave the ruling, also granted the duo two sureties each in the like sum adding that the sureties should be workers, residents in the area and must provide evidence of one year tax payment.
The sureties in addition to above must submit recent four passport photographs to the court as part of the bail condition.
Earlier, the prosecuting officer, Sgt. Itaita Ebibomino, had told the court that the accused committed the offences on May 30 at about 9.30 p.m. at Ayetoro, Itele-Awori in Ota.
According to him, the accused stole the motorcycle valued at N80, 000 belonging to the complainant, Isiaka Hammed.
The offences, he said contravened Sections 390 (9), 427 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Revised Law of Ogun State, 2006.
Further hearing in the case has been adjourned to July 2.
