The Commonwealth Youth Council has spoken against Friday’s explosions which killed over 100 people in the Kano central mosque by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.

The Chairman of the council, Ahmed Adamu issued a statement on Monday, saying the sustained violence in the country would leave a devastating impact on the youths if not curtailed.

“These attacks mostly affect young people in so many ways. They are either themselves used or end up being the victims.

” Thousands of lives of young people have been lost since the beginning of the Nigerian crisis and we, the young people, will not tolerate such things to continue.

“One of the core values of the Commonwealth is international peace and security.”

He also urged member countries of the council to help fight against terrorism and uphold the organization’s values.
