Clinton to appear before U.S. House of Representatives panel on Benghazi
The U.S. House committee investigating the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, says former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has agreed to appear before the panel on October 22.
“Secretary Clinton’s attorney, Mr. David Kendall, late today confirmed she has accepted the Select Committee’s offer to appear before the committee, which will take place Oct. 22nd,” the committee said in a statement.
Clinton’s campaign and House Republicans have sparred for months over her possible testimony and her refusal to turn over the private email server she used.
The committee is investigating the deaths of the US ambassador and three other Americans in the September 11 2012, attacks on the diplomatic facility in Benghazi.
Clinton is the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination.
