Chris Giwa takes NFF case to Court of Arbitration for Sport
Self-acclaimed Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Chris Giwa has taken his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) so as to suspend FIFA’s plan to ban Nigeria on Monday.
According to AfricanFootball.com, CAS is yet to reply to Giwa’s suit, which might in fact be unsuccessful as FIFA have a right to interfere in the electoral process of any federation in order to monitor the integrity of processes applied.
FIFA can also suspend an electoral process and/or appoint a provisional administration for the Federation if needed.
FIFA have threatened to ban Nigeria from international football on Monday morning if Giwa refuses to vacate his assumed position.
