CAN Condemns kidnap of its member
The National leadership and the entire members of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have received with rude shock and disbelief the criminal and unwarranted kidnap of our committed member, Church leader and the current head of the TEKAN/ECWA Church group, Rev. Dr. Emmanuel Dziggau along with his vice chairman Rev. Iliya Anto and Rev. Yakubu Dzarma (rtd).
They were kidnapped in the afternoon of Monday 21st March, 2016 along Kaduna- Abuja road while going to supervise the construction of an Easter ground in preparation for the Easter retreat for his Church.
The news of the abduction of Dr Dziggau and his colleagues obviously came to us as a rude shock knowing that as a minister of the gospel who has serve Humanity in various capacities preaching the message of love, peace and service to God and Humanity must be a thing of shock and surprise why he should be a target of the kidnappers’ weapon.
On behalf of the National Leadership of CAN and the entire body of Christ, we hereby register our grief over this very sad development and also register our solidarity with the families of our abducted brothers. Our hearts go out in prayer for their quick and unconditional release by their captors unharmed.
We wish to cease this opportunity to call on all the relevant Federal Security Agencies and the Kaduna State Government where Rev. Dziggau resides to leave no stone unturned in ensuring their quick release.
We kindly request all men and women of goodwill to join faith with us as we lift our eyes in prayer unto the hills of heaven, we have an assurance that our help ultimately comes from God, the maker of heaven and earth, and indeed the author of life. Our God will not let us down. He will touch the hearts of Rev. Dziggau’s abductors and all those involved in this unwholesome act of criminality and wickedness to release him immediately and unconditionally.
Rev. Dr. Musa Asake
