The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has stripped Morocco of the 2015 African Nations Cup hosting rights after the country’s refusal to host the tournament due to fears of spread of the Ebola Virus Disease.

CAF announced the  development on Tuseday, revealing that the North African nation country has also been disqualified from participating in the tournament. The federation is now set to find new hosts for the competition which is still scheduled for January.

CAF said in its statement, that other countries had indicated a willingness to host the tournament and that it will finalize the selection of the successful National Association shortly and confirm the place and date of the draw of the final tournament at the same time.

The federation also wants to see the Royal Moroccan Football Federation punished for flaunting the contractual agreement signed by both parties in April.
