This was stated on Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) website on Wednesday.
According to it, the news of the ban, which was as result of ” violent conduct” of Onazi on the field during Nigeria, Chad match was conveyed to the Federation in a circular sent to it from the CAF Secretariat.
This development means the Italy-based player is automatically suspended from playing in Tanzania versus Nigeria, and Nigeria versus Egypt matches.
Onazi who is player with SS Lazio, was shown a red card for retaliation against a Chadian player who had fouled Odion Ighalo. This he did after the match referee, Ibrahim Mamane had awarded penalty in favour of Nigeria.
