Buhari’s Camp Responds to Presidency’s Attacks over Manifesto
General Muhammadu Buhari has replied the Presidency’s statement accusing the former Head of state that his manifesto was “reckless and baseless”.
The All Progressives Congress’ Presidential aspirant responded to the president’s claim that his promises to bring positive changes to the country were built on projects carried out by the Jonathan administration already, saying the claim was false as the security, job creation and corruption are still issues the country is facing.
According to Buhari’s campaign organisation, millions of Nigerians were urging the retired general to contest and provide solutions to the country’s problems as they think the Jonathan administration is not up to task.
In a statement issued by a member of the Campaign organisation, Osita Okechukwu, they said: “It is our candid view that if President Goodluck Jonathan has, in the past four years, provided Nigerians with adequate security, waged war against corruption and ruled according to the spirit and letters of the 1999 Constitution of the country, the urgent call of millions of Nigerians for Buhari to come and fix the problems confronting Nigeria and stop the dangerous slide of the country into failed state could not have arisen.
